Good news, race fans! The open edition Vinylmation™ - Cars two-pack set is arriving at the D-Street locations in California and Florida on August 26. The Disney Parks on-line store will release this set on September 2.

August 26 will also see two additional releases.

Disneyland® Monorail fans have waited for this one. Finally, it's the release of the 9-inch figure designed by Alex Maher from Disney Design Group that celebrates the original higway in the sky.

This figure will have an edition size of 550 and a retail of $44.95. An important note - this figure will only be released at the D-Street location at Downtown Disney® District in California.

The Disney Parks Online Store will be releasing the 9-inch Genie figure from the Animation #1 series on August 26 as well. This figure has an edition size of 1,200 1,000 and a retail of $44.95.

We announced yesterday that the Lion King series will make its debut at the upcoming D23 Expo. See images below!

There is another figure that will be released at the Expo that celebrates the 25th Anniversary of the Disney Store. The 3-inch figure created by artist Jim Valeri and has an edition size of 2,500. It will also come packaged with a limited edition pin.

There will only be 500 of this figure and pin set introduced at the Expo (any guest attending the Expo may purchase it while quantities remain).

The remaining 2,000 figures will be released via the DisneyStore.com and sold only to D23 Members.

In other news, an article was shared today on the Disney Parks Blog about food as merchandise. The article gives a a look at a variety of figures inspired by food and a first look at the upcoming 3-inch figure for the Epcot® International Food and Wine Festival.

For fans of The Lion King, we are excited to officially annouce that the new limited release series will make its debut on Sunday, August 21 at the D23 Expo.
See the announcement on the D23 website.
There will be an artist meet and greet session starting at 10:00 a.m. at the D23 Expo with some of the Disney Store artists who created the series.

It's Friday! Like you, we are looking forward to the weekend! Before we head out, here are some fun images of things to come.

First, it is a better look at the 3-inch figures for the upcoming Spooky set being released at the Disney Store. One word - spooky. Okay, two words - spooktacular!

A few weeks ago, we shared artwork for the upcoming Vinylmation™ - The Lion King series. We are happy to share today a first look at the actual figure of Mufasa ... oooh, say it again .... Mufasa! Stay tuned as we have some exciting news to share about the release of this series.

Finally, we grabbed some fun images of Disney Artist Thomas Scott with figures from the upcoming "it's a small world" series. Thomas designed this series and we love it!

There is a new 3-inch figure coming to the Stockton Street store in San Francisco, California on August 27. This figure was designed by Gerald Mendez and comes packaged in a collectible tin. The figure does not have an edition size. Below are a few additional images of the figure and packaging.

There was an article posted today on the Disney Parks Blog about "The Florida Project," the upcoming Disney Trading events taking place in September. Look extra carefully at the picture of Steven to see a figure that will be introduced for trading at the event.

This new two figure, limited release set is coming to the Disney Stores on August 22, 2011. It will have a retail of $26.95.

Here are three more figures from the upcoming Vinylmation, Jr. #4 series by Thomas Scott.

As a reminder, this series will debut at the upcoming D23 Expo which starts on August 19 at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Speaking of August 19, we are delighted to share that the 9-inch plus 3-inch set featuring Gonzo and Camilla the chicken from Muppets #2 will also be released that day at the D-Street locations in California and Florida. The set will also be released via the Disney Parks on-line store. Designed by Disney Design Group Artist Monty Maldovan, it will have an edition size of 1,500 and a retail of $74.95.
